![]() A Message from Marian
Few things in life can cause immediate fear, anger, and anxiety like a cancer diagnosis (whether it is for yourself, a friend, or a family member). Please know, however, that cancer therapies (and my specialty -- post therapy treatments) have improved dramatically within recent years. -- Marian |
Welcome to www.MarianLordPT.com! After cancer surgery, people sometimes develop tight or painful scars. There may be limited motion in different joints. For example, after breast cancer surgery a woman may find that her shoulder does not move as far as it had previously, and there may be pain when the arm is raised. Areas of the body that have been radiated can become firm and tight. This is called radiation fibrosis. Sometimes people develop swelling in the trunk, breast, arm, or leg. This swelling is called lymphedema. Effective treatment is available for all of these conditions. Marian Lord has specialized in working with lymphedema and soft tissue restrictions for fourteen years. Treatments are given at the Oak View Wellness Center, near 144th and West Center Road, in Omaha, Nebraska. The treatment room includes nature photographs, live plants, and soft music. Treatment sessions begin on time. Easy parking is available right next to the building. Click here for a map to the office. Treatment Room What Clients are Saying "It had been three years since my breast cancer surgery, and I had been through a lymphedema program. I thought I would just have to put up with the discomfort I experienced in my arm, torso, and back. I heard such great things about Marian that I decided to see her and let her evaluate my condition. I have found the greatest physical therapist there is. I can't tell you in words how nice it is to be pain free, now. The difference is phenomenal." -- Bonnie C., Omaha, NE For additional testimonials, please click here. |
